Administrator

 As an administrator you will be part of a team responsible for ensuring the smooth, day to day running of the service.

Role of an Administrator

An administrator’s roles includes:

  • Completing an introduction to Citizens Advice and training for your role.

  • Helping with the day to day running of the Citizens Advice service.

  • Answering the telephone, replying to emails and post.

  • Ordering stationery.

  • Typing up letters and reading through documents checking for mistakes.

  • Printing and scanning documents using a printer.

  • Updating spreadsheets and databases.

Personal skills/attributes that an administrator needs:

  • Be friendly and approachable.

  • Be non-judgemental and respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own.

  • Have good listening skills.

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Have good maths and IT skills.

  • Be able to understand information and explain it to others.

  • Be willing to learn about and follow the Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies, including confidentiality and data protection.

  • Be willing to undertake training in your role.
